General Contractor

We think we have found a general contractor (Impressive Improvements) to do the basement work. We have a tentative agreement and are working out the details this coming week. We have also located an electrical contractor (Wise Electric in Lawrenceville, GA) to move the breaker panel. The panel move is scheduled for next week.
I managed to get some more preparation work done this weekend as well (with substantial help from my wife). Since we plan to drywall the ceiling in the theater, we will have to eliminate some electrical junction boxes by rewiring and I want to eliminate the saddle valve that provides water to our refrigerator and add a shutoff valve (I'm concerned that the saddle valve might leak and I don't want to have to provide an access hatch for it).
That's what I did this weekend. I ran a new 1/2" copper line from the main cold water pipe to beneath the refrigerator, then up through the floor. I terminated it with a shutoff valve behind the refrigerator. I learned one very important lesson, be sure to tighten any threaded fittings EXTREMELY well. I have the worst time with threaded fittings, and yes, I do use teflon tape. At least none of the solder joints leaked.

Today we signed a contract with Impressive Improvements for the basement and theater construction to formally begin in early February. The construction time is expected to require about 10 weeks. Sometime in January, we expect to go ahead and cut out the basement floor and install a footer to support one end of the support beam we are installing.
We also confirmed with Wise Electric to do the breaker panel move on Thursday.
