The HVAC unit and water heater move is done. A local HVAC contractor did the move for us and did an adequate job. They probably could have done a better job sealing all the ducts, but the system is moved and seems to work fine. They also moved the water heater, but I agreed to do all the plumbing hook-ups. I'm actually getting pretty good at sweat soldering. I still need to do some flue re-routing so I can maximize space in the room, but that can wait for a while.
The HVAC unit & water heater are now located where they are indicated on the space plan as you can see in this photo. Prior to the move, they were both installed the way of the door between the hallway and office. Looking from the hallway, you can see the prior installation. This photo shows the prior installation as seen from the office.
