Carpet

The carpet is all done and it turned out just right. We used a medium berber for most of the basement, and a very good quality cut-pile carpet for the theater. The carpet in the theater is black with a tan scroll pattern that looks very much like it belongs in a theater. Unfortunately it was extremely expensive, but it was the only black based carpet we could find that didn't look cheap.
Outside the theater, the basement is complete. We put the finishing touches on the bathroom by installing a shower door and a few accessories. We also set up some furniture in the bedroom, so now we actually have the capacity to host guests with their own bedroom and bath in the basement. By moving the disassembled projectors and their parts to the other finished basement room, we gained back the use of our spare bedroom upstairs. Bring on the company! The only remaining to do is a little touch up painting to repair the nicks the carpet people inflicted here and there.
In the theater, the fabric work is underway and most of the stage and proscenium are is finished now. The final look of the room is coming together, but the fabric won't be completed until the end of next week.
I went ahead and installed some of my Lightolier Compose switches in the theater and got them working. I will never again underestimate the value of hitting a single "on" or "scene" button instead of seven individual switches.
The projector parts are STILL not here. I'm having to consider now how I might use my existing projector temporarily in the theater. Unfortunately it won't work in the projector box since the box is too close to the screen for that particular unit. Since we also haven't had much luck in finding the right seating so far (admittedly we haven't tried all that hard yet), getting a projector solution is not yet a bottleneck.
