Final Trim & Racks

Yesterday Steve finished all the trim work in the theater, so today the primer coat of paint will be applied to the entire room. The finished trim included the window and crown areas, equipment rack doors, speaker cut-outs in the proscenium, and projector hush box. The projector box is pretty large (since the projector itself is large), but it blends with the trim and looks good.
We also installed the metal racks into the equipment area, and they fit perfectly. Given all the limitations of working with the space available under the stairs, we have about 88 inches of usable rack space. This should be plenty.
We also settled on the style of bar we want in the back left corner of the theater. We priced solid wood bars and found out that they are a bit too expensive for our budget. So Steve has agreed to construct a bar for us to be painted with a black lacquer to match the theater trim. We intend to use a maple top and bar trim to make it look like an authentic bar, and we will install a bar sink in one end (the plumbing is already stubbed for it).
Steve also finished the trim in the stair area this week. He added a railing with spindles along the open side of the stair, and added base cap moulding. The stair is much nicer now that it has ever been in the past.
We are meeting with our fabric installers (Mardi and Sherman Pieffer of Showtime Acoustics) this weekend to work out the details for the theater fabric, and we really need to find some sconces for the theater and settle on carpet for the rest of the basement.
If I haven't mentioned this before, I should point out that Steve has be a pleasure to work with throughout this project (and I'm generally very picky about the way I want things done). He does excellent work and doesn't seem to mind me constantly asking questions about everything he does.
